Retinaldehyde: The Most Natural and Effective Anti-Aging Serum Available

There are countless lotions, potions, and serums on the market today to address anti-aging. As a holistic esthetician I began my research by studying the various ingredients for effectiveness as well as safety. What I found was while there are key ingredients listed that have proven benefits, many times the product includes ingredients that have adverse health impacts.  I also found that some formulations contained inexpensive fillers that actually contribute to aging.

This lead me on a journey to find the purest skin care products available that also had potent corrective properties.  I came across a company that is doing just that. Osmosis product are all natural, with no artificial colors, preservative,s fragrances, or other harmful ingredients, no sodium lauryl sulfate or propylene glycol.

Osmosis utilized one of the most exciting and well-researched ingredients in skin care today- Retinaldehyde. Doctors and scientist have long seen Vitamin A derivatives as one of the most active ingredients in skin and the most effective.

You may have heard of Retin A (tretinoin topical). It is a synthetic form of vitamin A that is used widely in dermatology that is only available by prescription.  The problem with Retin A is it can cause skin irritation, over-exfoliation, and increased skin sensitivity. One study showed only 2% of topically applied retinal penetrates through the upper epidermis. That means that 98% stays in the upper epidermis where it does nothing but increase irritation and damage the barrier of the skin.  Because it is synthetic and has such a low absorption rate, very strong concentrations are used.

Retinaldehyde is the natural form of vitamin A. It is literally 500 times more active that its synthetic counterpart which means we can use smaller amounts to achieve the desired results. The absorption is increased because the body recognized this natural form of vitamin A and because of an amazing new technology called liposomal delivery. This patented method vastly improves absorption and restores the skin’s lipid barrier. The liposomes are proven to increase penetration by 1000 percent (yep, that is one THOUSAND times more).

Research has repeatedly shown that Retinaldehyde has a similar activity profile to Retin A but with much less irritation. 40 patients were involved in a one year study that demonstrated that Retinaldehyde significantly increased both the thickness and elasticity of the skin. This study also showed that Retinaldehyde was very effective at reducing facial wrinkles and with with much fewer side effects in this double-blind study.

My experience with Retinaldehye has been very impressive. This natural form of vitamin A is an excellent choice for treating fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage and even rosacea, and acne. All these benefits without a prescription while also supporting your skin's health as well as your overall wellbeing.

If you have any questions about Retinaldehyde, Osmosis and their amazing serums please contact me.  I use these in my therapies and find they are the most effective for corrective skin care.
