Suntegrity shoot 062AB Largr EWGWhen Osmosis announced they were discontinuing their Shelter sunblock, I went on a search to find an even better sunblock with great packaging as well.  I wanted a a zinc-based, non-nano particle sunblock that was great for all skin types as well as acne and rosacea-friendly. I came across Suntegrity and ordered some samples. I was so pleased with this sunblock I decided to bring it into my practice and make it available to my clients!

It is free of parabens, phenoxyethanol, mineral oil and other “nasties”, it smells heavenly- of citrus, is non-greasy, and goes on well under makeup. Being a broad spectrum sunblock, it has a high SPF of 30 so it is sufficient for fun in the sun this summer at the beach, on the boat, or in the garden.

It is available in tinted shades (light and medium- dark coming soon), un-tinted, for the face and body, and unscented (for baby). I am especially excited about the addition of organic ingredients such as red algae, aloe vera, astaxanthin, pomegranate, cucumber, and green tea that provide additional sun defense and hydration.

Suntegrity also offers a dietary supplement called Sun Defense. Nutrients such as polypodium leucotomos (fern) extract, astaxanthin, lutein, beta-carotene help boost UV protection from the inside-out by strengthening the body’s ability to protect itself. Scientific studies show effective in reducing the severity of UV sunburn damage and photo-aging to the skin.

So here is to our skin health- holistically!
